Constellations
A Self-Centered Celebration of Diversity
🔵 Do you want to deepen your curiosity and experimental nature?
🟣 Do you want social change to be playful?
🔵 Have your eccentric ways earned you the title of black sheep?
If you identify with any or all of these, consider joining us for ‘Constellations’.
This online workshop co-led by Arpita Gaidhane and Amber Beckett celebrates the tension between honoring individual identity and engaging the power of community.
Just as every star in a constellation has its own unique place and purpose, every individual in a community has their own strengths and contributions that add to the collective. Each individual is also made up of many aspects that make them a multi-faceted human.
This two-hour workshop will include
✨ A game-based exploration of diverse perspectives
✨ Solo journalling
✨ Small and large group discussions (participate to your comfort!)
✨ An art activity to make your own constellations
We aim to be adaptive and responsive to the people in the room, so this is planned, but not scripted. However, we’ll likely touch on topics along the lines of communal wisdom, groupthink, intersectionality, labels, and marginalization. But we’ll do it in a way that is both empowering, and – dare we say it – fun!
The workshop will be live on Zoom on Saturday May 20, 2023 at 8 pm IST | 10:30 am EST. We are committed to offering an intimate session to support presence, meaningful dialogue and personal reflection. Presence is precious. If you’re interested in this experience, please join and share.
To that end, the workshop is limited to 25 participants, and will not be recorded. Pricing is on a sliding scale to ensure financial accessibility.
Sliding Scale Tiers
*Difficult vs. detrimental:
eg. Attending this workshop instead of having a dinner out is an acceptable sacrifice (difficult), choosing this over buying groceries is an unacceptable hardship (detrimental).
Please refer to this resource if you need further clarification on the tiers.
Everyone’s financial situation is unique. We believe in your ability to choose the tier that is most appropriate for your circumstances and don’t require any proof of income or financial need to select a particular tier.
Our goal is to make this workshop as accessible and inclusive as possible, while also covering our costs, compensating our instructors fairly, and making sure this work can continue. However, we don’t want financial resources to be the determining factor in whether or not someone can experience our services. Please contact us if $10 is not accessible.
About the Facilitators

Amber
Amber (she/her) believes that facilitation is a form of activism and is a key tool for creating equity, inclusion, and belonging in a space. See her work here.
She supports entrepreneurs and activists in creating engaging and memorable workshops that are a clear and compelling introduction to their work, and away from the status quo.
Outside of work hours, if she’s not reading or playing board games, she’s probably dancing or napping.

Arpita
Arpita (she/they) has literally created a constellation from her many identities (you can check it out here)
As an artist and facilitator, it is her great joy to create and offer trauma informed safe and brave spaces for people to walk together towards authentic selves in authentic communities.
As a human person, she spends an inordinate amount of time petting needy cats, staring at trees and birds, and generally celebrating the elements.
